Description of Internship or Research Opportunity: The Discovery Hall Programs at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab has a summer internship available for an undergraduate (junior,
senior, or recent graduate) from groups currently under-represented in marine science and environmental education. Interns assist the DHP education staff in our many summer programs for K-12 students,
teachers and the public (see http://www.disl.org/dhp).
The successful candidate should be interested in marine science and environmental education and have completed a minimum of one year of biology or education. Interns live in the newly renovated Sea Lab dorms and are expected to work some nights and weekends. Interns should comfortable in the water, have a valid US driver’s license, and be capable of handling some strenuous physical activity, high heat and humidity since many activities take place outside.
Scholarships, Fellowships Associated with the Course: Internship includes a $3500 stipend, as well as room and board at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab for the duration of the internship.
