MarineQuest Summer Program Instructor

Position Description: UNCW MarineQuest invites you to become part of one of the most unique marine and environmental education summer programs in the country. We are celebrating over 32 years of service in coastal North Carolina by continuing to offer fun-filled, marine science focused academic week-long programs for children.

We have several different half-day, full-day, evening, weekend, and RA staff positions available. Each rewarding position is unique in terms of both content and participant age-range.

MarineQuest Summer Program Instructor will work with youth ranging from ages 5-10 and residential programs day staff will work with youth ranging from ages 10 -17. Day staff positions will work either half-day or full-day marine science based academic enrichment summer camp programs (exact age range and hours depends on program selected for; http://uncw.edu/marinequest/daystaff.html for more information).

MarineQuest evening staff will work with youth ranging from ages 10-17 at MarineQuest’s marine science based academic enrichment summer camp programs (exact age range and hours depends on program selected for; http://uncw.edu/marinequest/eveningemployment.html for more information).

Duties and responsibilities for MarineQuest Summer Camp Instructor/Counselor positions are specific to the individual positions in each category. Applicants should review each individual position’s duties at:

Terms of Employment:
1. June 5 through July 31, 2016
2. Mandatory staff training during the week of June 5, 2016.

Employment is subject to a criminal background check.

Work Hours:
Half-Day positions: 7:45am-12:15pm Monday-Friday

Full-day positions: 7:45am-4:15pm Monday-Thursday, and 7:45am-1:45pm Friday

Evening positions: 2:00pm-10:00pm Sunday and 4:00pm-10:00pm Monday-Thursday

Work Days:
Varies depending upon position; Employment will run June 5 through July 31, 2016 with training being the week of June 5, 2016.

Daytime positions: Monday-Friday
Evening positions: Sunday-Thursday

Weekend positions: Friday (evenings) – Sunday
