Course Description: A general survey of marine algae (microscopic and macroscopic), as well as salt marsh vegetation, mangroves, seagrasses and maritime forest communities. Lectures will emphasize identification, distribution, structure, ecology and physiology. Extensive overnight field and laboratory work is involved, including the ability to wade and snorkel.
